Pure Pop For No People

(Andrew Carver photo)

MOTHER'S CHILDREN played their first show in months a week or so ago on Xmas eve at ROCK N' ROLL PIZZA PARTY. They were really great and the new songs were killer. Mike is now playing electric guitar instead of acoustic guitar which makes his playing WAY more audible and gives the songs a lot more punch. They recently recorded a full-length record a Yogi's Meatlocker Studios and I cannot wait to hear it. You can check out rough mixes of "Shaky Sue", "What'll Happen To All The Girls" and "Don't Tell Mom" on their myspace page. Great upbeat glammy punk rock n' roll songs with influences from the 50's to the early 80's all coming together to form some insanely catchy songs that make you want to dance and party. I'm going to have "Don't Tell Mom" stuck in my head for a long time. I'm really looking forward to seeing them play again.

Ken from MC has been keeping busy by posting a bunch of stuff on their blog lately which has nothing to do with the band for the most part. He writes about great power pop and punk records and puts up links to songs and whatnot. It's pretty cool. So be sure to surf on over there once you're done reading this sentence.
