It was a pretty well kept secret but PORCELAIN FOREHEAD was the "Special Guest" at the show tonight at 279 Flora. I missed half of their set unfortunately since I showed up late/they played very early. What I did see was really great. They sounded awesome, had a pretty good presence and we're a treat to watch.
Here's a video of them playing the release show for the excellent BLENDER MIX comp which features half Ottawa bands and half Quebec City bands which came out in 1983. HERE is a French site that talks all about this compilation and has mp3's and videos of the bands involved.
You can read a lot about PORCELAIN FOREHEAD on the NO CAUSE FOR CONCERN? website. NCFC was an Ottawa punk zine which was edited by Janine Frenken who is now playing bass for PF. I posted about the zine back in March 2008. You can download the "Right Now! The World Needs A Clear Head" 7" HERE. There were 500 copies pressed and is fairly hard to come by. If anyone reading this has a copy of the 7" the wouldn't mind parting with, let me know. They also released the "Frogboy Lives" compilation posthumously in 1993. That record collects the songs from the Blender Mix comp, the P.E.A.C.E. comp and many other songs from different releases and recordings which you can find fairly easily.
